Description:
Part of the Western Counties Regional Library. In additional to Cabell Co., provides services to libraries in Wayne, Logan, Mingo, Putnam and Lincoln Counties.

AUDITORIUMS/MEETING PLACES:
Meeting rooms at each library location. Maximum accomodation of 150
people. No charge for use of meeting rooms for non-profit organizations. Fee charged for use of kitchen.

LOAN SERVICES:
Books, videocassettes, CDs, projectors, and books on tape.

SPECIAL COLLECTIONS:
> Local history and genealogy materials.

> Blind and Handicapped: Special material for the visually impaired and physically handicapped.

YOUTH SERVICES:
> Includes weekly, public story hours
> Summer reading program.
> Dial-A-Story (304-528-5599): Recorded stories for children.

TECHNOLOGY SERVICES FOR PUBLIC USE:
> FAX machine for public use (FAX 304-528-5739). Fee for sending non-library related material: $2 first page, $1 each additional page. Incoming FAXes cost $0.25/ page.

> Computer Classes: Free introductory courses in Windows, the Internet, and Microsoft Word. Eventually the library will be expanding its curriculum to include Powerpoint, How to Search for Jobs on the Internet, How to Compose a Resume on the Computer, How to Use Microsoft Publisher, and more. Pre-registration required. Courses offered T (2:30-4 pm), and W (6-8 pm) and F (2:30-4:30 pm). Variety of services offered at the Main Downtown Library, West Huntington and eventually Guyandotte Public Library. Call to sign up no sooner than two weeks prior to class.

> Public access to computers for word processing and Internet access. Must have library card. Printouts $ .15/page.

> Free wireless access.
> Copiers for public use.

NOTARY SERVICES: Free, available at Reference Desk.

RECREATION EVENTS:
Periodic literary, cultural events for all ages.

> Tri-State Literacy Council (304-528-5700): 3rd Floor. Uses volunteers to teach adults with reading problems how to read better on a one-to-one basis. See separae listing.
