| Description: | DESCRIPTION OF SERVICES: > Provides advocacy for improved public policy and promoting legislative priorities. > Promotes research and provides limited funding > Lending library and free brochure: Books and videos available for loan. > Safe Return: Maintains a nationwide identification, support and registration program that provides assistance to those who become lost locally or far away from home. Assists with locating missing registered Alzheimer's patients. > Support groups in Huntington and Barboursville. > Speakers available > Educational Services: > > PWYD (Partnering With Your Doctor): Free workshop instructing patients on how to get the most out of the patient/physician relationship. (Not just for Alzheimer's patients.) > > HODE (Hands-on Dementia Experience): Sensitivity training for persons dealing with patients with dementia. Available to individuals or groups. > > Organizes conferences for professionals and families on local, national, international basis. > > Provides training in Activity Based Alzheimer's Care and Key Elements of Dementia Care |
