| Description: | A council of early childhood organizations that meet bimonthly to share and plan early childhood programs within the community. Oversees ERASE Barriers and serves as the advisory council for Healthy Families America, and New Steps (see Team for WV Children). PROGRAMS: ERASE BARRIERS: Program linking parents with community resources, and make quality childcare accessible for all children. Services provided by family care providers and centers: Children's Place, Child Development Academy at MU, Enterprise Child Development Center, Norma Grey Early Learning Center, Playmates Child Development Centers (5), ERASE BARRIERS SERVICES: > Assists with payment of childcare for persons denied LINK services, provided on a sliding scale in participating centers. > Participates in the WV Career Pathway Program, resulting in more highly trained employees. > Parent workshops (eg. behavior management, nutrition, violence management) > Distribution of "Parenting Step by Step" brochure > Information on how to find quality childcare > Training for accreditation of home-based child care providers and childcare centers. |
