The West Huntington Library was originally located in a storefront building in the 400 block of West 14th Street in 1968. The current library was built just four blocks from the original in 1990. Our displays include a small collection of glass items from Blenko Glass, Rainbow Glass, Pilgrim Glass and Fesenmeier Brewery. One famous piece is a Cameo Glass Vase made especially by a resident artist employed by the Pilgrim Glass Factory for Old Central City’s 100th anniversary. The vase depicts scenes in a circle around the outside that shows historical aspects of Central City. We also house some historical photographs of families and businesses from the area. Information about Old Central City and surrounding areas of Cabell County are located in our Local History section.
Our library contains over 52,000 items for circulation to our community. These include adult and juvenile books , magazines, music CDs, DVDs and videos, audio CD books, playaways, newspapers and access to downlodable books.
