No matter if you are just starting, or need to brush up reading skills for GED or college study, TSLC will match you with a tutor for one-to-one study.

We are happy to talk with you and give you more information about how to read better, write better, or do math with more confidence.

Would you like to help individuals in your community? We can help!

Our organization welcomes volunteers who would like to help an adult improve literacy skills as well as numeracy skills. All volunteer tutors take a 12 hour basic literacy training course where they will learn different techniques and strategies that will help an adult improve their literacy.

Once a tutor completes training, he/she is matched with an adult learning working on a literacy-related goal. Tutors can also choose to work in small groups of 3-5 adult learners. Tutors meet with adult learners at least once a week, an hour each time at any of the public libraries.

If you are interested in joining our community, please click on the links below for a complete job description and tutor profile form. Complete the tutor profile form and send it back to our office by e-mail, You are also welcome to visit our office located inside the Cabell County Public Library.
